NOAA Fisheries, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are reminding boaters that the North Atlantic right whale calving season begins this month, which means these large whales will soon be showing up off the Southeast's coast.

Biologists with NOAA Fisheries and state partners in Georgia and Florida remind all boaters that Northeast right whale calving season begins in mid-November and runs through mid-April. During these months, the large whales are on the move, making their way down the U.S. Atlantic coast.
