Management Plan Review

Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary has embarked on its management plan review and the public is encouraged to participate. Learn more by attending the next Gray's Reef Sanctuary Advisory Council meeting on November 16, in Brunswick, GA.

As part of the process, Gray's Reef has reviewed the research and monitoring work done by scientists in the sanctuary over the past several years. A 2012 addendum to the original 2008 Gray's Reef Condition Report, finds that the sanctuary has improved its overall ratings of "good/fair" to "good'' in several areas; particularly in areas directly impacted by specific management actions and areas where more research has been conducted.

In addition, the sanctuary recently completed a detailed Knowledge, Attitudes and Perceptions Survey of sanctuary users and non-users about management strategies and regulations of the sanctuary.

Make your voice heard and be part of the 2012 Gray's Reef NMS management plan review process.
