Educational HandbooksThe Northern Right Whale from Whaling to Watching was designed by Sarah V. Mitchell, of Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary, and written with Ann Smrcina of Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. A fold-out poster, created by Will Hon, accompanies the handbook and depicts the migration route, size, and anatomy of the great whale. Gray's Reef, with the cooperation of the University of Georgia Marine Extension Service, has produced two educational handbooks. Tales of Whales, Turtles, Sharks, and Snails is an elementary level educational handbook. Its purpose is to increase the awareness, knowledge and literacy of elementary students in marine-related subjects. It is written also for elementary teachers to use as a resource and guide to other environmnetal educational materials. Rivers to Reefs "Altamaha River Watershed Educational Module", by Cathy Sakas is a curriculum handbook designed for the classroom. It was developed by Cathy Sakas, Education Coordinator at Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary, and incorporates classroom-tested teaching activities.
