Savannah Country Day School requires every senior to complete a project in order to graduate. This project goes on for three weeks in May. At the end, the student gives a brief presentation of his or her experiences.
Country Day believes that each student should have the opportunity to gain experience in the work force. They urge the students to choose a profession in which they may wish to pursue as a career later in life. By following the professional and watching their every day activities, students obtain a feeling of importance and a sense of responsibility.
In 1998 and 2000, a number of seniors from Country Day asked the staff at Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary if they could have the opportunity to spend their final weeks of high school with them. These pages sum up the three weeks.
